Vertical barrier gate

A vertical barrier gate is a gate that lifts up and down to block off areas where it is not practical to slide the gate sideways. It is particularly suitable where you want to make maximum use of floor space, for example at gates, ramps, loading zones or narrow passages. When the gate is up, you have full access – when it is down, the area is clearly blocked off.

Very space-saving

Vertical barrier gates are designed for frequent use in busy environments. The gate can be raised and lowered quickly, providing a clear physical barrier without having to build out to the sides. This makes the solution easy to combine with existing truck runs, goods flow and pedestrian zones, and makes it more intuitive for employees to use it correctly.

Key points

A professional and proper way to block off restricted areas.

Makes maximum use of floor and wall space

A vertical barrier gate lifts straight up and down, and therefore hardly expands in either width or depth. This makes it ideal where you have limited space along walls, shelves or gates, but still need a clear physical barrier. You can keep the flow of goods, shelving systems and equipment as they are – without “sacrificing” valuable floor or wall space.

Clear demarcation of risk areas

When the barrier gate is down, there is no doubt that the area is closed. It marks a clear physical barrier to risk areas such as ramps, loading zones or entrances and exits, and makes it easier for both employees and visitors to understand where it is safe to travel. This contributes to fewer dangerous crossing points and better HSE in practice.

Easy to combine with existing gates and ramps

Vertical barrier gates work well with existing loading ramps, gates and gate openings. They can be placed on the inside or outside of a gate, and are used as an extra layer of security when the gate is open. This allows you to keep the gates open for ventilation and logistics, while maintaining control over who and what can actually pass through.

Good solution where a side door is not possible

In many buildings, there is simply no room to slide a gate sideways – for example, due to shelving, columns, doors or other equipment. Then a vertical barrier gate is a natural alternative. It provides the same benefits of clear demarcation and control, but without the requirement for free wall space or free side space.

Can be adapted to your own needs and challenges.

The vertical barrier gates can be adapted to almost any type of opening and work area. We take into account ceiling height, opening width, ramps, gates, loading zones and nearby equipment, so that the solution actually fits into your everyday life. Whether you need a low barrier to mark a zone, or a higher gate that really closes off an area, we can adjust both height, width and design. If you have special challenges – such as narrow passages, different floor levels or existing structures that need to be taken into account – we will find a solution that works in practice, not just in theory.
